I'm Onyx, 24 and from Worthing, a crappy little seaside town in southern England. This blog is mostly for my photos, drawings, and other randomness.
Interests include animals, particularly foxes, (which I also enjoy photographing), taxidermy, music, (especially prog rock!), cemeteries and various other stuff. Yeah. o_O

Took some individual shots of them, (had to put some card down cause the floor outside was so dirty. Should have turned it over to the grey side, though. u_u)

The first one is Magnus, the biggest male. He also has the brightest, most orangy colored fur. Next is the second male. His colors are duller, but he also has a really nice face. And lastly is the little, yellowy-grey vixen. ^^

Photos still don’t do them justice, but yeah. Also need to come up with names for the other two. Since they’re German foxes, I’ll probably give them German names~

This is absolutely disgusting. I don’t know how anybody would want to kill an innocent animal and skin them alive. Many of these animals that are killed have been tortured, some being stabbed with high heals, others being tied down and kicked to death. I don’t understand how anybody could ever do that to another creature, let alone buying the “product” that enforces this cruelty.

These were wild foxes that were shot for pest control. They certainly were not tortured or skinned alive.Everything you just listed is a total myth, made up by groups like PETA, and is not true of the modern fur industry.

First of all, that’s probably worse. Who says that wild foxes are “pests”? We took over their land and when they do things that we don’t like, we decide they have grown too much in numbers. Just because they may “kill sheep,” doesn’t mean that they are pests. They are only doing what is natural to them. We, as humans, are the pests. We invaded the land, took away their homes, and then kill them. And the fact that you’re naming your dead, skinned animals are just inhumane. How would you like it if I shot you because you were being a “pest,” skinned you, then named you? Pretty shitty way to go, if you ask me. Secondly, everything I just said is NOT a myth and I’m not some PETA activist. Groups like the Humane Society of the United States also declare that the fur industry is not right either. Thirdly, give me an example of your “modern fur industry,” because I can guarantee that there is no real humane way to kill and skin these creatures going on. Animals that are skinned for their fur are very much raised on farms (just like the meat industry) and live in cages their entire life. A lot of the times, these animals are skinned alive to “keep the color in their coats.” When you have a real idea of what the fur industry is, submit it to me. Other than that, I pity you, my friend. I think it’s terrible that you can sit there and be happy with what you’ve done, be proud of it. These animals had families. They had lives. They had feelings and felt pain and for you to take away their right to that is despicable.

Naming pelts is inhumane? Okay then. o_O;

And the HSUS is no better then PETA. I’ve researched the fur industry in depth for many years, and believe me, it’s nothing like these groups would have you believe. For a start, there are strict laws in place that govern the care and welfare of fur animals. Skinning alive also NEVER happens. This is the most annoying myth I hear. Not only would it ruin the pelt and make it totally worthless, but it would put the skinner at great risk of injury. Plus, it’s plain illegal.
